Prof. Dr. Yusuf ŞAHİN

Prof. Dr. Yusuf Şahin was born in Giresun in 1971. He graduated from Ulper Village Primary School and Giresun Religious Vocational High School. He got his bachelor’s degree from Ankara University, Faculty of Political Science in 1994. He received his master’s degree from Middle East Technical University in 1998 and his PhD from Ankara University in 2002. He became an associate professor in 2006 and he became a professor in 2011. In 2003, Şahin became an assistant professor at the Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences, Karadeniz Technical University where he started as a research assistant in 1995. He became an associate professor in 2007 and a professor in 2011. Şahin had various duties at Karadeniz Technical University such as the head of the Department of Public Administration, head of the Department of Urbanization and Environmental Issues, principal and assistant principal of Institute of Social Sciences and member of the Faculty Board of Directors. Şahin was teaching Urbanization Policy, Environment Policy, Local Administrations, Urban and Regional Planning at Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences, Karadeniz Technical University. He is teaching Local Administrations, Urbanization Policy, Environment Policy and Urban and Regional Planning at Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences, Aksaray University. Şahin has three translation books, over 60 national and international articles and many briefs published in newspapers and journals. Şahin, who was the Dean of Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences, Aksaray University between 2013 and 2015, was appointed as the President of Aksaray University in May, 2015. Prof. Dr. Yusuf Şahin is married and has three children. His English level is advanced.
